Gail is designed to easily support multiple platforms. Through its driver system, adding a new platform just requires defining the pieces that makes the platform unique, easing portability.

Currently, Gail supports the following platforms:

- Linux (x86, x86_64)

- MacOSX – 10.5 Leopard or later (x86, x86_64)

- Windows – XP or later (x86)

- iOS – 4.0 or later (armv6, armv7)

- Android – 2.3 or later (armv6, armv7)

Some porting has also been done for:

- Haiku – R2 or later (x86)
